With fewer individuals able to access quality addiction treatment on a self-pay basis, treatment providers must look for better ways to engage people to provide effective treatment. The tension that exists within much of SUD (Substance Use Disorder) treatment is to balance best practices built upon current evidence-based models with practical considerations of a patient’s resources and what one’s insurance is willing to support.
On an increasing basis, we are finding ourselves having to navigate high-quality care and sound clinical recommendations juxtaposed to the patient’s limited assets. It would not be appropriate to cast a dim shadow on insurances as always wanting to minimize support.
Dedicated monthly and annual donors provide reliable, steady resources allowing CeDAR to deliver highly specialized multidisciplinary treatment of addiction and co-occurring disorder treatment to our patients and their families.
