Why CeDAR?
With over 10,000 treatment programs in the United States alone, it can feel overwhelming to figure out which one is right for you. Here are some important questions to ask before choosing a treatment center for you or a loved one:
Yes. CeDAR’s admission department is open 7 days per week with the goal of providing you with access to care within 24 hours of your initial call. We are often able to facilitate an admission the same day of the initial phone call.
We base our determinations on the ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria, which is a comprehensive set of guidelines for placements, continued stay, transfer or discharge of patients with addiction and co-occurring conditions. Here’s how we do that:
If your symptoms require medically monitored withdrawal management, we start there. This program generally lasts 3-5 days.
If your symptoms suggest that residential treatment is the right program for you, we offer up to 90 days of residential treatment. This begins with our 28-day intensive residential treatment program, and steps down to our residential extended care program.
The highest level of outpatient treatment is a Partial Hospitalization Program. CeDAR’s Partial Hospitalization Program lasts for 3 weeks.
The most commonly offered level of outpatient treatment is an Intensive Outpatient Program. CeDAR offers this program 3 days a week allowing you to choose your preferred group session of morning, afternoon or evening. This program lasts for up to 12 weeks.
CeDAR’s Continuing Care Program meets once per week for 90 minutes and is a step down group for patients who have completed the Intensive Outpatient Program. There is no time frame for participation in this program.
*All of CeDAR’s programs include comprehensive assessment, group therapy, 1:1 therapy, family therapy, case management, sobriety monitoring, MAT (Medication Assisted Therapy) and medication management via our addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine team. Additional testing services may be available upon request.
Accessible during programming and upon completion of programming is CeDAR’s Alumni Program which is a complimentary set of support services offered to those patients who have completed at least one of the programs described above. There is no time frame for participation in this program.

Yes. We offer evidence-based medications for addictive disorders. These typically include buprenorphine containing products such as Suboxone or Sublocade. Other forms of medication assisted therapy are also provided such as Vivitrol, which can help with opioid or alcohol use disorders. Medications have been found to be helpful for opioid, alcohol, nicotine, and methamphetamine use disorders, although the strongest effect is for opioid use disorders. The most common form of treatment, Suboxone, is a form of “substitution” therapy where a long acting opiate treats the cravings for opiates and blocks the reinforcing effects of shorter-acting opiates. Vivitrol, another option, acts a “blocker” and prevents opiates from acting on the opiate receptor.
