A state lawmaker has opened up about the most private and painful part of her life as she fights for laws aimed at addressing the opioid epidemic.
There were 17 reported heroin and opioid overdoses admitted to the Poudre Valley Hospital Emergency Room in 2015, based on recorded diagnoses at the time. That number spiked to 31 in 2016.
As of Monday, there were already 10 this year.
