Participation in the program requires you to remain abstinent from all mind-altering substances. Therefore, an important element of our approach is accountability. We create an environment of safety and structure through urine drug screening, breathalyzers, and counseling.
PHP participants will receive a daily breathalyzer and weekly urinalysis (UA) screen for drugs of abuse. A positive result on one of these tests will trigger an intervention by the treatment team within 48 hours.
It’s essential that you take personal responsibility for your own recovery. This means communication with staff asking for the help you need, building healthy relationships with peers and living your recovery program when you leave treatment.
Please review the explanation of the CeDAR PHP groups:
CeDAR’s PHP is a medically managed program for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and treating co-occurring mental health disorders. Participants will be evaluated for the program by the psychiatry team. Each person will be assigned a psychiatrist with whom they’ll meet once per week during treatment. Medication prescriptions can be filled at local pharmacies. Adherence to medication regimens is essential to success.
Each PHP participant will work with a licensed therapist experienced in the field of co-occurring disorders. You will meet with counseling staff weekly for an individual session and case management. Counseling staff will provide support for recovery through group counseling, individual counseling, coordination of care and treatment planning.
Family systems play a major role in determining success in recovery. In addition to family therapy groups, we have a structured Family Week program where you and your family can learn about the impact of addictive disorders on the family unit and develop strategies to heal the family system as a part of the overall recovery process. One family member can participate in Family Week as part of their loved one’s CeDAR PHP.
We require all PHP participants to develop support outside of treatment in peer support groups. This can include 12-Step Groups, SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery, Life Ring or a professional’s support groups. These peer support groups are essential to your success and have proven efficacy in sustained recovery.
